Karak
Singh Wala is a little known village of well known district of Amritsar.
Sewa Ram Sarangal & Tilak Raj Sarangal, sons of the soil, earned pride
for it. Completing primary education at Government School Ganda Singh Wala
and Secondary education at Government School Verka, they upheld a promise
beyond a modest expectation.
The
elder Sarangal competed his master in statistics while the younger one
in Agriculture before settling in the Indian Administrative Service in
Madhya Pardesh and Punjab cadres respectively.
I
came in contact with them when younger Sarangal was posted as Deputy Commissioner
Sangrur. While reporting for the Tribune group, I was quite thrilled, when
this project was discussed with me. It was really enjoyable to work with
the duo. It is a humble effort on their part ot add a small drop to the
great ocean of Sikh history, culture and literature. I sincerely hope that
this compilation will give deep sense of appreciation of Sikh way of life
to the new generation
